Hi! I’m Jill and I am a photographer serving the Boston, Massachusetts area and beyond. I specialize in natural light, on-location newborn, child, and family photography.
A LITTLE ABOUT MY ARTISTIC VISION…
The goal of every session is to capture the essence of your child and family. While I started out as a more traditional-style portrait photographer, I have found myself slowly transitioning to a more natural-setting, lifestyle type of photography and most of this comes from experiences in shooting my own children. I don’t believe that your family portraits should be taken in front of a fake backdrop and would rather head out to a local park or enjoy the comfort of your home. I believe the best portraits come out of me acting like a “fly on the wall” – quietly there to observe and capture the amazing moments that unfold. Children do amazing things when they are not being prompted to look into the camera.
I understand that in many cases a posed portrait or two is desired and that is great – that we will do! However, I want to focus more on your relationships, on your story.
In three words, I would define my style as spontaneous, relaxed, and fun. Real life and real moments, captured.
A LITTLE ABOUT ME….
I am the mother of two beautiful girls, Isabella & Ava, who are my daily inspiration. I have an amazing husband, who besides working a full day himself, keeps out bellies full and clean clothes on our backs, particularly when I am running around crazy shooting or editing images.
I have been photographing babies and families since 2011. I work full time in a non-photography-related job but I am lucky that I get to do what I love most in my spare time. I do have a goal to take my photography full time in the future.
I enjoy the challenge and freedom that comes with shooting on-location.
I shoot natural light only and I am self-taught.
I love the small details of a brand new baby and the eye twinkle of a toddler. I have a slight obsession with baby feet.
I see life as a photograph waiting to happen.
Thank you for stopping by and I hope to meet you soon!
Thank you to Stacey Hedman of Stacey Hedman Photography for these lovely images!
